A brow lift raises the eyebrows to rejuvenate the eyes and forehead. The procedure involves making an incision above the brow and lifting the internal tissue for a smoother, more youthful appearance.
As an experienced plastic surgeon, Dr. Hasan often combines brow lift surgery with other rejuvenating procedures, such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and laser skin tightening. Blepharoplasty lifts the skin around the eyelids. Combining your brow lift with upper or lower blepharoplasty can take several years off your appearance.
As you age, your skin starts to sag. Your body begins producing less collagen, a protein that helps build your connective tissues. Without this tight structure, the tissue underneath loses its support and gravity begins to drag it down. This natural process can lead to sagging brows, which shortens the space between your eyebrows and eyelashes.
Drooping brows can alter your facial features. You may appear angry, unhappy, or tired. A brow lift and blepharoplasty raise your eyebrows to refresh your eyes and help you look younger.
Dr. Hasan can perform a brow lift in one of three ways:
During a coronal brow lift, Dr. Hasan makes an incision across the hairline from ear to ear and pulls the underlying tissue. He then removes the excess tissue from the scalp and sutures the incision.
An endoscopic brow lift involves making several small incisions along the hairline. Next, Dr. Hasan inserts a long tube with a camera through one incision and pulls the underlying muscle and tissue through the other.
A hairline brow lift ensures your hairline remains in place. Dr. Hasan creates an incision along the top of the hairline and removes excess tissue from the forehead. He then pulls the skin upward and sutures the incision.
You can expect to recover from a brow lift after 10-14 days. Bruising and swelling should subside during that time. Dr. Hasan will schedule a follow-up appointment to evaluate your healing and remove your sutures.
